Deeper Than Colour

Angus is an angry, traumatised war veteran living in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is bored with marriage, work and life in general. It's "hard for an abnormal person to live a normal life". He decides to star in his own reality show using hidden cameras to document his struggle with every day reality.

The novel explores the gulf between self-image and how others perceive us. It also exposes the stress of living in a city in which danger is ever present.

Deeper Than Colour was published in 2010 and won the EU Literary Award in the same year. It was shortlisted for the South African Sunday Times Literary Award and the UJ Literary Prize in 2011.
